23. Don't Take My Love Away
Ruthie gets to be the flower girl at Eric and Annie's second wedding, but she wants to do it in a tuxedo. She gets Matt to help her, so Simon doesn't move out.

24. See You in September
Ruthie gets in trouble at school after she keeps wearing her hat backwards. Her teacher thinks she's in a gang. In the end, Ruthie gives the hat to Simon after it accidentally fell in the toilet.

25. I Love You
Simon and Ruthie read Matt's mail.

26. Who Knew?
Ruthie has to learn to do her own laundry after her teacher talked to her mother, because she wore the same shirt for three days in a row.

27. Says Who?
Ruthie and Simon try to convince everyone Simon's shrinking. It doesn't work.

28. Breaking Up Is Hard to Do
Ruthie gets in trouble after kissing a boy at school.

29. Girls Just Want to Have Fun
Ruthie wants to know how fast 100 miles an hour is. She also dresses up like Lucy, cause she loves hanging out with her sisters (even though her sisters don't always love it). She also tells Mary it hurts your feelings where you're hiding and no one is seeking.

30. Do Something
Ruthie becomes a business woman by buying all of the greeting cards Simon tried to sell. She sells them for profit and makes a lot of money with it, while she only wanted 10 dollars. She buys Simon an action doll he wanted and still has her 10 dollars!

31. I Hate You
Ruthie colors on her bedroom wall and cupboard door. Her mom makes her clean it up and Ruthie says she hates her (which she had just heard Mary and Lucy say about Matt's new girlfriend). She fakes being ill the next morning, because her arms hurt from all the cleaning. After overhearing her mom talking about what she said, she feels bad and finishes the cleaning without complaining.

32. Truth or Dare
Ruthie doesn't want to take swimming lessons. So, Simon teaches her in the bathtub. Their mom finds out and Simon has to tell Ruthie she still needs to take swimming lessons. Ruthie, however, proves she can swim now and is allowed to go in a more advanced group.

33. Lead, Follow or Get out of the Way
Ruthie wants to become a magician, just like Simon. She ends up at the hospital when she put a peppermint up her nose. The doctor teaches her a trick to pull a lollipop out of Simon's ear.

34. Rush to Judgment
Ruthie tells her parents she broke the window with a golf ball after Simon actually did it. She doesn't mind being punished. When Simon confesses he broke the window, Ruthie still doesn't mind being punished.

35. Stuck in the Middle with You
Ruthie brings home lizards. After the boy lizard ate the eggs of the girl lizard and the girl lizard ate the boy lizard, Simon and Ruthie flush the lizard down the toilet.

36. Red Tape
Ruthie and Simon order rain boots for Happy.

37. Homecoming
Ruthie is afraid of getting left at the museum during her first field trip. When she finds out her mom, who had come with her, made them get lost, she never wants to go on another field trip. In the end, she changes her mind.

38. It Takes a Village
Ruthie and her friend Lynn both have a crush on their substitute teacher. They even fight about it, but make up in the end.

39. Nothing Endures But Change
Ruthie and Simon get into a fight and Simon moves out of Ruthie's room. She immediately changes her room into something that's more 'her'.

40. My Kinda Guy
Ruthie and Simon get sick when they smoke the cigarettes of the French exchange student who's staying at their house.

41. Time to Leave the Nest
Ruthie is afraid that the girl Simon found on the streets will be moving in with them, but in the end she helps the girl feel safe with her grandmother, with whom she's going to live.

42. Like a Harlot
Ruthie is crazy about a costumed dinosaur called Snappy, but gets very hurt when she finds out the truth about the character.

43. Boyfriends (1)
Ruthie is mad at Matt because he'll be moving out soon.

44. ... And Girlfriends (2)
After Happy gets on a TV commercial, a man shows up at the house who claims Happy is his. Ruthie and Simon are very upset when the man takes Happy away, Ruthie with bad words. In the end, Happy returns on her own.
